Clickers

Most teachers here at Liberty Elementary use clickers. Clickers are for answering questions. The teachers give students a clicker with a certain number on it so they know which student answers which question. The clickers are a different way of answering questions than just writing them on a paper or raising your hand and answering orally. It is much easier to tell what the answer is because if you accidentally push the wrong answer you can easily erase it. Unlike a pencil eraser, you can clearly see which answer is chosen. Clickers are a fun way to get students interested in learning.

The Projector

By Ethan Sturgill

There is lots of technology equipment being used throughout our school. One specific piece is called the projector. A lot of teachers in our school use projectors. In my opinion, it is very useful in every class who uses it. This is because it doesnТt take as long to get the students and the teacher prepared for the lesson they are learning. It also helps the teachers to have more free time by only printing one sheet for the teacher and not one for every student in the class. By doing that, it saves paper and trees. It also helps save time because it wonТt take as long to pass out papers. Another reason why projectors are useful is that instead of just hearing the things you are learning, you can see the things on the screen too. It gives you a visual image of what you need to do when youТre being taught by your teacher. As you can see, projectors can be useful to the classroom. These are just some of the things that I know about projectors in our school. I also asked my teacher some questions. One of them was how the projector helps you when you are teaching. She answered with this-УI canТt imagine teaching without it! I use it to show websites, pictures, and worksheets. We also use it to project flashbacks using the Senteo clickers.Ф My second question I asked her was why do you think the projector is useful? She answered with this Ц УIt allows the whole class to see images clearly, and it has made the classroom more interactive.Ф I asked her one more question. It was how can the projector help teachers in the classroom? She answered with this УIt has reduced the amount of copies I have to make and it helps the students see exactly whatТs on their paper and on the screen.

Box Tops Podcast

Liberty Elementary is collecting Box Tops for our school. Each box top is worth 10 cents each. You might think thatТs not much but if all the kids in the school brought in one box top, with 680 students that would be $68.00 each day! Many of you are not interested in collecting Box Tops but with all that money, we could improve the school and make it so much better. It would be good to tell other family members about Box Tops so they can collect Box Tops too for our school. So please collect Box Tops for our school.

My Volunteer Jobs at Liberty's Fall Carnival:
At the Fall Carnival I was in charge of the first aid station. If someone were to get injured they would come to me or one of the other volunteer first aid station workers. No major injuries occurred, only minor injuries that required a small band-aid and first aid cream.
Also, at the fall carnival I controlled the power-point presentation in the game room. Occasionally I paged people over the screen. And because my mom was working the silent auction baskets, I got to announce the basket winners!
