Accelerated Reader is a reading
motivational program in which students read selected books and take
computerized quizzes over the books. Classroom teachers use Accelerated
Reader to monitor student independent reading. Students earn points and
recognition by reading books and passing Accelerated Reader quizzes. For
the 2009-2010 school year, our PTA has funded a subscription to
Accelerated Reader Enterprise. This upgrade allows our students to have
access to over 100,000 Accelerated Reader quizzes. Students may
log into AR Enterprise on any school computer using their AR user names
and passwords and take quizzes. The program has a Home Connect component
which allows families to view student progress and request email updates
by logging into the site with the student's user name and password. Families can also look up AR
quizzes by title, author, or reading level on the AR Book Finder site.
